Effective Manufacturing 4.0 attracts more than 450 participants

Upwards of 450 participants attended the Effective Manufacturing 4.0 conference, held at the Skolkovo Innovation Center on November 16-17, aimed at boosting the efficiency of Russia’s industrial companies and the transition to digital production.

Effective Manufacturing 4.0 is a flagship event for Russia’s industrial companies and regularly attracts the leading specialists from factories and plants all over the country, as well as experts in the field of machine tools and Information Technologies interested in digitalizing Russia’s industrial sector and raising its competitiveness and technological independence.

Russia’s Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Vasily Osmankov kicked off the main plenary discussion, titled: “Are we ready for a digital revolution?”

The co-organizers of the conference were the Skolkovo Foundation and Twins Technologies (a resident of Skolkovo’s Cluster for advanced manufacturing, nuclear and space technologies).

Alexei Belyakov, Vice President, Executive Director of the Cluster for advanced manufacturing at the Skolkovo Foundation: “The breadth of subjects up for discussion at the conference, as well as the sheer volume of participants, really underlined the fact that digitalization is changing the appearance of industrial enterprises, and even of society itself.”

ZYFRA was General Partner to the conference as a specialist developer of artificial intelligence technologies and the Industrial Internet of Things for digital manufacturing.

At the company’s booth, the country’s leading monitoring system for industrial machinery and personnel, AIS Dispatcher, was on show.

Igor Bogachev, CEO, ZYFRA: “Digital economics in manufacturing is the new reality and provides the organizational models in established markets. We can call digital manufacturing ‘the Facebook of machine tools,’ where the machine tools are old, but Facebook is new. The first step must be to digitalize our ‘old’ economy, that is to say the industrial machinery must be ‘plugged into’ a single network at the company, which will provide for digitalization and artificial intelligence in the manufacturing process.”

Participants from more than 250 companies took part in the conference, including leaders and experts from Stankoservice, Norgau, SKF, Robur International, Abamet, Fanuc, DMG MORI, Mitutoyo, Sandvik, Coromant, Renishaw, Phoenix Contact, Solver, Adman, Siemens, STAN, Technikon, TsKR Smolensk Region, Balt-System, Omron, 1C, Promsvyazbank, Ankor and more. Representatives from the National Agency for Direct Investment, the Russian Association of Robotics, OITAS, and others were also in attendance.

The conference program included items on the following topics:

  • Infrastructure and data;
  • Smart equipment;
  • Where is the key to efficiency?;
  • The industrial revolution in pictures;
  • Future professions in mechanical engineering

The conference also featured an interactive exhibition of industrial technologies named Digital Manufacturing, where guests were presented with modern machinery, intellectual production systems, infrastructure solutions and auxiliary equipment.
